In the summer of 1994, along with six friends, he undertook an extensive gospel tour titled “Messengers of Love,” cycling over 1500 kilometers across Kerala and Tamil Nadu in 42 days to preach the gospel undeterred by weather conditions. His dedication to the Lord and His kingdom was evident even while he studied full-time.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in theological studies, Dr. James went to Himachal Pradesh in 1996 as a cross-cultural missionary, where he endured severe beatings for preaching the gospel. He served there as a church planter for a couple of years before returning to seminary to obtain his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees in Religion and Philosophy. Upon marrying Jasmine in 2002, he became a professor and head of a seminary in Nagpur, India for ten years before moving to the United States for his doctoral studies.

While studying at Asbury, Dr. James and his wife Jasmine founded Serving Alongside International, an organization dedicated to educating pastors in rural India who lack theological knowledge and serve suffering communities. To date, alongside his team, he has trained over 7,500 pastors across eleven states in India.

Dr. James is an ordained minister, seminar speaker, professor, philanthropist, and evangelist. He travels to India three times a year to support and train underrepresented pastors and serve communities in need. Manohar and Jasmine have two children: Jason, aged 12, and Jonathan, aged 6, who live in Madison, WI.

In 1992, in her role as Manager of Regulatory Affairs, Miss Dolejsi was engaged in a Joint Application Development team tasked with developing a custom Laboratory Information System. During this project she worked extensively with the Information Technology (IT) team, which led to a transition into a 30-year career in the IT field in Data Engineering and Management.

Over the course of her career, Miss Dolejsi has worked in a variety of private and public organizations, including biotechnology, state governmental agencies, and higher education; and has lived in California, New Mexico and Florida, returning to Wisconsin in 2000.

In 2024, Miss Dolejsi began another transition. Following a round of layoffs by her employer, she felt God’s calling to leave the IT field and serve His Kingdom more directly, using her gifts, knowledge and skills supporting Christian non-profits. In 2025, Miss Dolejsi joined Dr. James at Serving Alongside International, as Director of Operations, where she currently serves. She also volunteers for the Global Missions Team at her local church.
